47 things
When I was a little girl, I felt cheated that I had a summer birthday. I never got to celebrate in school, never had the chance to bring in cupcakes or have the class sing to me (thank goodness for that part) and by the time July rolled around, I was usually too engrossed in summer sports, games of Marco Polo with the neighborhood kids, and late night sleepovers, to plan an actual birthday party. It was more like, let's take a quick break from the pool to sing "Happy Birthday" and devour a slice of cake before running off into the sticky, golden evening and onto the next summer night adventure. Now I see how lovely it really was. The simplicity of it all. Birthdays are still low key around here and I've grown to cherish the gathering of those I love, the song, the cake, the pause of the evening just before we scatter off to our next summer night adventures.
I turned 47 so here are 47 things that make me happy:
1. My new iPad that I got as a gift from John and the kids for my birthday.
